Russia’s first digital shipyard launched in Karelia

New digital shipyard equipment has been launched in Petrozavodsk on the basis of the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant. This is a key stage in the modernization of the enterprise. Vessels will be built here using digital technologies at every stage, from design to production.

The control system identifies the parts using QR codes, increasing the efficiency of production and supply management. Labor productivity is expected to double, and ship production will increase from three to ten per year.

About 500 new jobs will be created at the plant, and a special department has already been created at the technical school for personnel training.
