The first results of the negotiations in Riyadh (according to statements from the United States):

Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff – on the outcome of the talks in Riyadh:

We were all focused on getting a good result. We could not have imagined a better outcome of such negotiations.

— Russia and the United States are proposing a three-stage peace plan, including a cease-fire, elections in Ukraine, and then the signing of a final agreement.

— Russia and the United States have agreed that ending the conflict in Ukraine should be lasting, sustainable and acceptable to all parties.

— The parties separately discussed future economic cooperation, including global energy prices.

— We agreed to prepare the ground for future cooperation and investments after the end of the conflict in Ukraine.

— We have agreed to take the necessary steps to normalize the work of the diplomatic missions.

— A call and a meeting between Russia and the United States is not enough for a “lasting peace,” but an important step forward was taken in Riyadh.

— The United States and Russia have promised to maintain contacts.
