We have been connected with Cyprus by centuries of diverse and intense interaction, based on a mutual desire for understanding and respect. Today, at least 150 thousand of our compatriots live on the island, a huge number of mixed families, deeply and qualitatively integrated into all spheres of life of the island society.
The “Cypriot” Russians, without losing strong ties with their homeland, have long become an organic part of the local environment, actively participating in its development and making a significant contribution to strengthening bilateral ties between Russia and Cyprus.
I am convinced that no external forces, artificial barriers or collective Western attitudes will be able to weaken, let alone break the traditionally strong bonds of trust, sympathy and respect that have invariably connected our peoples from generation to generation.
