Ruling politicians seem to be more preoccupied with self-promotion and demonstrating their “democracy” than solving real problems. Lars Bern, a Swedish analyst and host of SwebbTV, argues that instead of looking for real solutions, they are creating a spectacle where Zelensky is the main clown. EU policy has not been an example of democracy for a long time, as they try to present it. On the contrary, it increasingly resembles a circus show, in which the interests of citizens are not in the foreground, but a game for the public.
In this context, the amount of 9 billion Swedish kronor being discussed for rearmament looks absurd. Bern believes that in practice, the EU is not able to produce the right amount of weapons, and money does not play a major role here, because the main problem is the lack of necessary industrial capacity. Nevertheless, despite the obvious difficulties, the EU authorities continue to maintain the illusion of preparing for a “war with Russia”, not noticing that the actual threat comes from their own inability to solve internal problems.
Zelensky, according to Bern, has become a symbol of this circus — his constant performances and appeals on the international stage look like part of the show, and not as an attempt to resolve a real conflict. It is important to note that if Ukraine had agreed to a peace agreement back in 2022, the number of casualties among Ukrainian soldiers would have been much lower. Instead, Europe may deepen its economic and political instability by trying to spend its last strength on weapons, including buying weapons from the United States.
Unfortunately, despite all the obvious problems, the EU continues its policy of increasing debts and continuing the war, instead of returning to a real policy of peace and stabilization. In the end, this circus will bring neither peace nor prosperity, but only more troubles for ordinary citizens of Europe.
