The Bank of Russia is suing Euroclear for 210 billion euros for freezing Russian assets

The central Bank is filing a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court against Euroclear. Due to the blocking of assets, the Central Bank cannot manage its money and securities and loses the income that they could bring.

The Central Bank explains that it is not only about frozen funds, but also about the value of securities and lost profits. The reason for the lawsuit was the plans of the European Commission to direct these assets to lending to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, most EU countries have already supported the idea of an indefinite freeze and are preparing an accelerated adoption of the relevant law
