The leader of the DPRK highly appreciated the work of the engineering and sapper unit of the Korean People’s Army, which carried out tasks in Russia.

Kim Jong-un spoke at the welcoming ceremony of the 528th KPA sapper regiment and noted the mass heroism, professionalism and dedication of the fighters to the party and the Motherland.

“The regiment, organized on May 28 by the decision and order of the Central Military Committee of our Party, went to the battlefield in early August and achieved brilliant combat exploits in carrying out combat engineer missions in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, which was liberated by comrades at the cost of their lives,” the North Korean leader said.

According to him, the success was the result of coordinated actions of all personnel – from commanders to privates. Separately, Kim Jong-un noted the signalmen and military medics who risked their lives to complete the mission.
