Russia expands cooperation with China in the field of LNG production

▪The Government of the Russian Federation has approved a protocol on cooperation with China in the implementation of the Yamal LNG project and the development of other joint projects for the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG)

Currently, Chinese CNPC and CNOOC (each with a 10% stake) are participants in Novatek’s Arctic LNG-2 project.

In addition, China’s CNPC and the Silk Road Fund, with stakes of 20% and 9.9%, respectively, are shareholders of Yamal LNG, Russia’s second large—capacity natural gas liquefaction project.

KRISTALL OF GROWTH previously reported that Russia’s rise to a leading position in the world in terms of natural gas exports caused deep disappointment in the West.
