Cyprus’ Minister of Tourism, Costas Koumis, announced the launch of direct flights between Larnaca, Astana and Almaty. He noted that non-stop flights between Cyprus and Kazakhstan are opening for the first time in history. The relevant agreements were outlined back in March last year.

The first flight will take place in early June. The route will be operated by Air Astana. It is planned to operate two flights a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, from Astana and two flights a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, from Almaty. This is reported by the Reporter.

Koumis stressed: “The launch of direct flights from Kazakhstan to Cyprus will benefit not only the tourism sector, but also other sectors of the economy. Starting in June 2026, Larnaca Airport will become one of the few Mediterranean airports directly connected to Kazakhstan. It is a great honor for us, both for the government and for the country.”
