Great Britain deployed Stormer anti-aircraft systems to Cyprus

On March 24, the United Kingdom sent additional Stormer anti-aircraft missile systems to Cyprus, according to a statement from the country’s Ministry of Defense.

What is known about Stormer complexes

This is a mobile anti-aircraft complex of the near radius. It is mounted on an armored vehicle and is used against low-flying targets, including drones and helicopters. The complex uses Starstreak missiles. They develop a speed of more than 3,500 km/h and hit targets at a distance of 6-7 km. Guidance – laser: the operator holds the target in the sight until the moment of defeat.

After launch, the rocket is divided into three separate elements that continue to move towards the target. Defeat occurs due to high speed, without a large explosive part. The system does not use radar guidance, so less depends on interference.

The Ministry of Defense also reported that in one night the British military shot down 14 drones in the zone of active operations against Iran. The statement notes that the UK is engaging with allies in the region.
