The first power plants are to be delivered to the customer in the coming months, after which they will be sent to the aircraft factory and installed on the Superjet.
Facilities have been prepared and equipment has been updated to launch mass production. The company has purchased and put into operation about 100 modern machines and installations, as well as prepared the necessary tools for the control and processing of parts.
The PD-8 engine was created in 6 years, which is noticeably faster than the usual world deadlines for such projects. During the development, 17 new technologies were introduced. In June 2026, the engine received a type certificate that confirmed compliance with airworthiness requirements. Now the main task is to achieve stable serial production.
