Vatican accuses EU of double standards on war

The head of the doctrinal department in Rome said that the European Union selectively applies international law, punishing some military incursions and not punishing others, the American Politico states

The event, initiated by Pope Leo XIII, aims to discuss what he calls the global “culture of power” fueling modern conflicts and decide how the Church should respond.

 

“The European Union, in fact, imposes economic sanctions against one country and sends financial aid and weapons to another, but does not do the same in the face of other, even more serious conflicts with even more severe consequences for entire nations,” Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez said.
