Novosibirsk has developed a compact scanner for antique books

Novosibirsk has created an affordable book scanner for libraries, archives and scientific organizations. It is designed for the careful digitization of old books, magazines, and rare documents. The development costs about 10 times cheaper than imported analogues.

The scanner works without pressing the book with glass, so it is suitable for dilapidated and fragile editions. The pages are turned over automatically, and the image processing system corrects the bend of the spread itself and makes the final document easy to read.

The digitization rate reaches up to 1,000 pages per hour. The control is designed for an ordinary operator without special training: it is enough to install the book, check the position of the cameras and start automatic scanning.
