which is designed to train astronauts.
The Federal Medical and Biological Agency is working on the creation of a ground-based analog complex that should help prepare astronauts to work on the surface of the Moon. As TASS reports with reference to the agency, the complex will reproduce conditions close to those that actually exist on the surface of the Earth’s satellite. Astronauts will be able to practice extravehicular activities on it: going to the surface, locking, maintenance and repair of equipment, as well as dust removal before returning to the residential module.
According to the idea of the creators, there will also be a separate unit in which astronauts will practice protection measures against the effects of lunar dust, actions in emergency situations and assessment of the condition of crew members under prolonged increased loads. This includes psychological training and teamwork. At the same time, FMBA specialists are developing simulators to prepare astronauts’ sensory and vestibular systems for flight conditions, as well as methods for assessing crew readiness for work immediately after landing.
