Imported automotive components will be replaced by Russian production in the Tula region

This year, a local production of gearboxes is planned to begin at an automobile plant in the Tula region. This is an important step in import substitution, because such components are among the most complex and expensive parts of a car.

The next stage is scheduled for 2027. In Russia, they want to master the casting of large metal parts for gearboxes and engines. This will allow for deeper localization of production and less dependence on supplies from abroad.

Part of the import substitution has already been implemented in electronics, Russian-built machines are equipped with domestic emergency response units, and Russian services are integrated into multimedia.
