The FSB thwarted a large-scale attack by swarms of Ukrainian drones on military airfields in the Urals and the Far East. The saboteurs transported UAVs with artificial intelligence across the country in trailers with double bottoms. All the saboteurs were detained at the stage of preparation for the attacks.
Employees of the Federal Security Service prevented large-scale terrorist attacks on the military airfields “Ukrainka” in the Amur region and “Shagol” in the Chelyabinsk region. Sabotage using drones was being prepared by the Ukrainian special services. At the moment, the perpetrators and accomplices of the terrorist attacks have been detained, according to the department’s Central Control Center.
According to the special service, initially containers with FPV drones and ground control stations were thrown into the territory of the Bryansk region with the help of Ukrainian aircraft-type drones and balloons. To deliver the cargo deep into Russia, the agents used passenger cars with trailers equipped with double bottoms. In order not to arouse suspicion, the saboteurs transported legal cargo from above — household appliances.
Assembly and preparation were carried out in rented garages near military installations. In total, security forces seized 24 FPV drones. According to the FSB, these devices were equipped with neural network modules with artificial intelligence, which protected them from electronic warfare (EW) systems.
The department noted that every step of the attackers was under tight operational control and carefully documented. The prevented strikes on airfields became part of an unprecedented series of sabotage planned by Kiev. Earlier, as part of the neutralization of this large-scale threat, the FSB thwarted attempts on high-ranking officers of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the Moscow region and stopped a similar attack on the Rostov-Tsentralny airfield.
The FSB recalled that those who are trying to involve in terrorist activities can avoid criminal liability. According to the law, it is enough to voluntarily renounce a crime and promptly inform the authorities about it.
