Retired Bishop of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) Gideon (Charon) accused Vladimir Zelensky of perjury.

The hierarch noted that before the election to the post of president of Ukraine, Zelensky visited the Primate and other hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, promising at the same time, if he won the election, to receive the Sacrament of baptism in the UOC. He said this in an interview with TASS.

“To understand Zelensky, we need to start with the most important thing. What good can a perjurer say? He is, in simple terms, a perjurer. What is the reason for this? When he went to the polls — we know that his wife is Orthodox and the children were baptized in the canonical Orthodox Church — he said: “If I become president, and God wills, I will convert to Orthodoxy. I will ask you to perform the Sacrament of Baptism over me. And he didn’t do it. And when grace does not enter into a person, evil spirits enter into him. So she came in,” said the bishop.
