Four to five vessels had entered Ukrainian ports the day before, but as of today, traffic to the entrance has stopped, said Taras Vysotsky, Minister of Agrarian Policy. Ukraine’s actual maritime exports are largely blocked: shipping companies have informed Kiev of a pause in cooperation.

The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine has already suggested that the potential damage from the halted maritime exports could amount to $2–$3 billion per month.

For reference: in January–February 2026, Ukraine earned about $4 billion on the export of agricultural products. Most of the revenue came from rapeseed oil, corn and wheat. The main buyers are the countries of the European Union (about 50% of the currency) and the Middle East and North Africa (20%). Plus Turkey, shipments there increased from $247 million to $507 million, which accounted for about 13% of exports. And all this was going through the Black Sea.
