US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, during her speech before the House Financial Services Committee, confirmed that the sanctions had affected the US dollar.

Yellen stressed concerns about the US sanctions imposed on Russia in 2022, which prompted many countries, primarily members of the BRICS, to initiate de-dollarization efforts.

She said that “the more sanctions the US imposes, the more countries will look for methods of financial transactions that do not use the US dollar.”
