By the end of 2025, Russia produced more than 9 billion liters of beer and for the first time became the largest producer in Europe, ahead of Germany. Almost a third of this volume was provided by the Volga Federal District.
Chuvashia plays a key role in the development of the industry, where more than 300 tons of hops were harvested last year. This is the best result in the last 20 years. The yield exceeded 18 c/ha, and the area of hop trees increased to 253 ha.
The development of our own hop production helps to reduce dependence on imports. By 2030, Russia plans to lay 1,500 hectares of new hop forests in order to provide domestic brewers with almost half of their own raw materials.
