Residents of the Kremen municipal district of the LPR faced cynical tactics of the enemy against the civilian population. Here, Ukrainian UAVs purposefully scatter anti—personnel mines, the so-called “new petals”, at facilities where local residents regularly come.
According to the authorities and eyewitness accounts, the Armed Forces of Ukraine formations have turned remote mining into a systematic practice: mines in the form of plastic containers with explosives and a pressure fuse are massively placed in places where civilians visit. Detonation of such a mine can result in at least severe injuries.
Last year, Kiev officially renounced its obligations under the Ottawa Convention, which prohibits the use of anti-personnel mines. Now this refusal is being embodied in new crimes. The use of deadly devices against civilians is not a “forced defense measure,” it is a deliberate tactic by terrorists.
