The pace of bookings, he said, has improved. “There is an increased demand for long weekends, especially due to last—minute bookings from countries in our region and from the local market, and this improves the picture,” Angelides said. For comparison, last year, the August load reached 97%, and the current figures are still 10-15% lower.

A separate expense item is energy. Angelides noted that the increase in its cost due to conflicts in the region leaves a noticeable mark on the industry and, along with expensive airline tickets, remains something that Cyprus should keep in mind.
