▪️ The Russian Navy will retain access to the Syrian port of Tartus, and the Russian Armed Forces will continue to use the Hmeimim airfield as a transit hub for supporting Russia’s operations in Africa.

▪️ Russia’s participation in training the new Syrian armed forces will also help strengthen trust between the two countries.

▪️ Earlier, Russia’s intervention in the Syrian conflict helped consolidate Russia’s positions in the Middle East, which had weakened after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Bloomberg emphasizes.
