Local authorities plan to make more active use of video surveillance to combat vandalism and protect municipal property.

In the coming days this issue will be discussed with mayors. Where the law already allows the installation of cameras, they propose to start work immediately. If legal obstacles arise, the authorities intend to seek changes in the legislation.

The cameras should help prevent violations and identify those who damage public facilities.
