“The Capitulation of Japan and the End of the Second World War”, timed to coincide with Victory Day over militarist Japan and the end of the Second World War.

The exhibition tells about the final stage of the Second World War and the combat operations of Soviet troops in the Far East in August 1945. Special attention is given to the Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation, the defeat of the Kwantung Army, and the events that culminated in Japan’s surrender on 2 September 1945.

The exhibition presents frontline sketches, posters and photographs from the collections of the Victory Museum, as well as graphic works by artists who were direct participants in the combat operations in the Far East.
