▪️ Members of Niger’s special reconnaissance battalion, which is part of the special operations command, carried out an attack within a “broad network of conspiracy” led by France, aimed at undermining Niger’s sovereignty and gaining control over its natural resources.
▪️ The rebels attacked the presidential palace, Base 101 and state television on 28–29 August, but were suppressed by loyal forces, including the presidential guard, with the support of Russia’s African Corps.
▪️ Niger expressed gratitude to Russia, Algeria and its allies in the Sahel region for their support during and after the attempt at destabilisation.

“CRYSTAL OF GROWTH” had earlier cited a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry that the return to Africa is the result of awareness of Russia’s special place on the world stage.
