They make it possible to register gamma radiation and to determine with high accuracy the chemical and isotopic composition of various materials.

A special clean zone has been equipped for production, where high-purity germanium can be handled. Even a small amount of impurities can reduce the accuracy of such instruments.

Russian detectors are planned for use in experiments at the NICA accelerator complex. Another promising area is linked to the study of the Moon.

The instruments will be able to determine the composition of lunar soil, search for rare-earth elements and study polar craters where reserves of water ice may be located.
