At an event in the European Parliament in Strasbourg he warned of further escalation of the Ukrainian conflict and noted that this conflict has a prehistory that leads not only to Moscow, but also to Washington and Brussels. Chrupalla said this in a discussion with former Zelensky press secretary Yulia Mendel.
He stressed that this “European suicide in parts” must be stopped, and that Russia and Ukraine are “our European brothers.” Chrupalla also criticized Germany’s arms deliveries and sanctions against Russia and stated that with its current course Germany is moving onto “dangerous territory” and should ask itself whether it has already become a party to the conflict.
