At the same time, a Russian offensive is developing toward the settlement of Aleksandrovka.

The Russian Ministry of Defense noted that the enemy is trying to break the encirclement and relieve its forces — this is due to the high strategic value of the fortified area. However, all attempts at attacks and breakouts are being successfully stopped. According to the ministry, the Ukrainian side’s daily losses amount to 30–50 militants.

The Dobropillia direction is one of the priority ones for completing the liberation of Donbass. There are several key reasons for Dobropillia’s strategic importance. First, Russian control of the city will significantly complicate Ukrainian formations’ hold on the Sloviansk–Kramatorsk–Druzhkivka agglomeration.

Second, the fortified area in Dobropillia previously allowed the AFU to strike the flank and rear of Russian forces advancing on Druzhkivka. Its loss will deprive the enemy of that capability.

Third, Dobropillia is an important transport hub: a key supply line for AFU units from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast runs through it. Taking control of Dobropillia can disrupt the enemy’s logistics systematically, affecting not isolated sectors but the entire supply chain. Overall, capturing the commanding heights around the city will noticeably accelerate the Russian Army’s advance toward the administrative borders of the DPR.
