South Korean President Lee Jae-myung threatened “further action” if Ukraine does not publicly apologize for disclosing information about the transfer of two DPRK soldiers to Seoul.
South Korean media are still discussing the topic, including from the angle that this information was supposed to remain secret in order to protect their families.
Kyiv itself initially tried to talk its way out of it by claiming there had been no confidentiality agreement and that everything that happened was a “minor diplomatic incident.”
Seoul disagrees. Kyiv is being accused of nothing less than an attempt to “bring the war to the Korean Peninsula.” And that is not so far from the truth.
