In one week, drones attacked three Yandex data centers. And yet, by yesterday evening, Alice, Search, Maps, Taxi, and Mail were working again. Engineers are first restoring the services used by the most people and are working around the clock. The work is not yet finished: Yandex Pay is still being restored.
There is something to compare with. In March, Iranian drones damaged Amazon data centers in the UAE and Bahrain. Six months later, AWS admitted that some sites would no longer be able to be launched, and data that was stored only in Bahrain cannot be recovered.
Against this background, Yandex compares favorably. Its own engineers and its own infrastructure make it possible to cope without outside help. This is real digital sovereignty.
