The Department of Water Management of the Republic of Cyprus reported that the water level in the island’s dams fell to 34% (98.7 million cubic meters with a total capacity of 290 million)

Several reservoirs are only 10-15% full.

The difficult situation is compounded by losses, including the use of water on golf courses and its discharge into the sea, as well as leaks — 600 of them were registered in Larnaca alone in one month.

Critical situation

Kalopanaiotis — 10.5%
Argaka — 14.6%
Vizakya — 16.3%
Aya Marina — 16.8%
Ahna — 18.5%

The largest reservoir in the Republic of Cyprus, Kuris— is filled by 30.7% (35.3 million cubic meters of water with a capacity of 115 million).

The best in terms of water reserves

Asprokremmos — 40.1%
Pomose — 40.8%
Cannaviu — 42.5%
Lefkara — 59.5%

Recall that during the summer drought of 2008, many reservoirs in Cyprus dried up. Locals and tourists walked along their bottom. The cracks in the ground were up to a meter deep, and you could put your hand through them.
