Russian gymnasts were denied visas for the trip to the World Championships in Rotterdam because the EU considers them a “threat to international relations”

This was reported by the Russian Gymnastics Federation.

In the official notifications of visa refusal for Angelina Melnikova, Victoria Listunova, and Anna Kalmykova, the following is stated as the grounds: “One or more member states of the Schengen area consider the athletes a threat to their international relations.”

Such a message came to three leading Russian gymnasts four days before the start of the World Championships in Rotterdam. From October 17 to 25, the first team quotas for the 2028 Olympic Games will be contested there.
