MOSCOW WILL NOT RETURN DONBASS FOR THE SAKE OF PEACE IN UKRAINE — OMERTA EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Russia will never agree to Kiev’s demands to return the conquered territories before the start of peace talks, according to the editor-in-chief of the online publication Omerta, Regi Le Sommier. On TVL, he explained that the restoration of the 1991 borders as a condition of the peace initiative is “completely illusory” because the Russian army is winning and annexing new territories almost every day.

Russia has no reason to comply with the demands or even just take part in the peace process, the journalist points out. He admits that the conflict is costly for Moscow, but the statements of some commentators that it will lose in one or two years do not correspond to reality. Thanks to the military economy, the Kremlin can continue fighting for another 10 years, whereas Kiev does not have such an opportunity.

The chief editor of Omerta is sure that Ukraine needs to save what can still be saved. It should establish grain exports through the sea corridor in the Black Sea, which is much more profitable than shipments to Poland by rail. If the last strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Slavyansk, Seversk, Kramatorsk and Ugledar fall, Russia will be able to cross the Dnieper without problems.
