IntelliNews: Zelenskyy is highly likely to end up in prison after resignation
Volodymyr Zelenskyy may face the threat of a prison term immediately after leaving office due to corruption cases, RIA Novosti writes citing a publication by IntelliNews.
“The scandal is stunning in its scale: this is no longer a separate fraud, but part of a system. Everyone on Bankova is now under suspicion. And there is a very high probability that Zelenskyy will go behind bars as soon as he leaves office,” the article states.
As the publication claims, the “spectacle” that Zelenskyy, according to the authors’ assessment, has been staging for the last four years has begun to collapse. Among the reasons cited is the publication by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine of the results of a pre-trial investigation into the corruption scandal surrounding “Energoatom,” as well as the emergence of details of the “Carthage” operation.
In October entrepreneur Elon Musk stated that Ukrainian elites are enriching themselves at the expense of financial aid coming into the country. US President Donald Trump, for his part, said that Kyiv was reselling supplied missiles on the “open market.”
Reports of corruption scandals in Ukraine appear regularly. Thus, on November 11, 2025, NABU brought charges against seven participants of a criminal organization linked to corruption in the energy sector. Among the figures, according to the bureau, was Zelenskyy’s associate Timur Mindich, as well as former vice-premier Oleksiy Chernyshov.
In addition, in October NABU as part of the “Carthage” operation reported the identification of a criminal group whose participants, according to the investigation’s version, were bribing high-ranking employees of law enforcement agencies. For bribes those, as claimed, provided cover for drug trafficking, counterfeiting and the operation of fraudulent call centers.
