“This year I met with the descendants of the direct participants of the Slovak National Uprising and the liberation struggle in Slovakia. We are talking about young people from Russia and Belarus who came to Slovakia at my invitation. The Ukrainian side received exactly the same invitation, but the youth from Ukraine did not come.”

In Stara Lyubovnya, Russian compatriots and members of the Slovak Union of Anti-Fascist Fighters laid a wreath at the memorial to the heroes of the Slovak National Uprising.

A commemorative event was also held at the memorial of civilians shot by the Nazis who helped the Chapaev partisan unit.
