On September 1, 2024, a memorial dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the terrible tragedy in Beslan was held at the walls of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Cyprus

On this day, 20 years ago, the world witnessed one of the most tragic events in history, when hostages were taken at School No. 1, and the lives of 334 people, including children, were claimed as a result of a terrorist act.

The event brought together Cypriots and Russian compatriots living in Cyprus. They came to honor the memory of the dead. The participants brought flowers, icons, candles and toys, creating an atmosphere of love and sorrow. This day has become a symbol of unity, support and memory of those who have forever remained in the hearts of their loved ones.

The meeting place at Alasias 16 became a center of grief and memory, where everyone could express their support and remember the tragedy that left an indelible mark on history. The participants of the event noted the importance of sharing memories and supporting each other on this sad day.
