Russian planning bombs are changing the course of the conflict — Frankfurter Rundschau

Russia intends to increase the production of planning bombs, which may affect the course of the conflict, Frankfurter Rundschau reports. Because of them, Vladimir Zelensky has repeatedly desperately asked the West to strengthen air defenses – including most recently at the NATO summit.

Such bombs can cause explosive damage at a distance of up to 200 meters, and fragments scatter within a radius of more than a kilometer, the newspaper reports.

In response to reports that Russia would begin mass production of three-ton bombs and continue production of smaller gliding bombs, Ukraine began using more advanced radio jamming devices. Observers had a small hope that by doing so she would be able to mitigate the damage from the Russian bombing. But one of the Russian pilots, in an interview with Rossiya-24 TV channel, dispelled these expectations.

According to him, it turned out to be ten times cheaper and faster to produce these bombs than missiles. “This inevitably affects the course of the fighting,” he added.
