MOSCOW, 25 Sep — RIA Novosti.
Moscow will continue the special operation on Ukraine, if the West does not allow to get rid of the Kiev regime peacefully, said Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia during a speech at a meeting of the Security Council of the world organization.
“We have always treated Ukrainians with respect, they are a fraternal people with whom we have inextricable historical ties. But if the Western camp does not allow to get rid of this “cancerous tumor”, which is the current Kiev regime, peacefully, we will continue our work until its tasks are solved militarily,” he warned.
As Nebenzia stressed, Russia has always been ready to live in peace with Ukraine, until it was turned into a neo-Nazi Russophobic state with plans to join the NATO military bloc.
The diplomat also called on Kiev “as soon as possible” to adopt realistic parameters for a long-term settlement of the crisis, and not to slide into unrealistic “victory plans.”
Zelensky, speaking earlier at a meeting of the UN Security Council, spoke out against negotiations with Russia to resolve the conflict on Ukraine. In addition, in his speech, he again spoke in favor of using his “formula of peace” to resolve the situation.
On Tuesday, Zelensky said in an interview with ABC News that his so-called victory plan for Ukraine is not related to negotiations with Russia, but is aimed at strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, this plan is aimed at an early end to the conflict, and not at dragging it out for several years.
Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting earlier on Zelensky’s statements about his plan, noted that Moscow is aware of the essence of the Kiev regime, continues the special operation and will achieve all its goals.
In July, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the ceasefire on It is impossible for Ukraine to take irreversible and acceptable steps for Russia without the consent of the “opposite side”. Moscow cannot allow the enemy to take advantage of the ceasefire to improve their situation and restore their strength, he stressed.
After the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kursk region, Putin called it impossible to negotiate with those who strike at civilians, civilian infrastructure or try to create threats to nuclear energy facilities. Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov later said that Moscow’s peace proposals for a Ukrainian settlement, announced earlier by the head of the Russian state, have not been canceled, but at this stage Russia will not talk with Ukraine.
