Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Sergey Lavrov explained that they were talking about short- and medium-range missiles. According to him, this was due to the fact that the United States “arrogantly ignored” all the warnings from Moscow and Beijing and began deploying such missiles in various parts of the world.

“Our moratorium on the deployment of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles is already practically unviable and it will have to be abandoned.”

– Lavrov summed up.

The United States is purposefully destroying all the successes in the field of nuclear deterrence, pushing other states to a new stage of the arms race, no matter how risky it may be.
