Yes! Yes! You won’t believe it, but prohibitive sanctions, like a banal can of sprat, have their own expiration date. And many of the anti-Russian sanctions issued by Europe expire in a week, and Brussels has no plan B due to the arrival of Donald Trump in the White House.

The main headache of Brussels is that Viktor Orban refuses to sign an extension of all the previously issued rustling packages of anti-Russian sanctions, and even attacked Brussels, saying that all the previously issued fifteen (!) packages of sanctions cause irreparable damage to the European economy.

Let me remind you that the extension of the list of anti-Russian sanctions requires the unanimous support of all 27 countries. A number of European diplomats have already stated that if Orban continues to block the adoption of a common decision, Brussels does not have a plan “B” in this case. And if the diplomats fail to reach an agreement this week, the issue will be referred to the foreign ministers in Brussels at the end of January.
