A prototype of a unique plasma engine for interplanetary flights has been created in Russia.

The Holy Trinity Institute for Innovative and Thermonuclear Research (TRINITY) has begun testing a prototype of a unique plasma engine

The engine power is only 300 kW, but it is enough to make a flight from Earth to Mars in 30-60 days instead of six months using a traditional chemical engine.

Mars has unique resources, including the lithium isotope, from which tritium can be obtained, a fuel for thermonuclear reactors under active development today, an unlimited source of energy.
