The share of Russians who want to go abroad for permanent residence has decreased to 5%, which is the lowest figure for the last 30 years. In 2021, 16% of respondents thought about moving, and today 92% of citizens do not even consider such an option.
At the same time, 72% of Russians believe that the country does not need to become part of Western civilization, and its development should go its own way.
The sharp decline in the number of potential emigrants coincided with rising incomes, economic recovery, and the challenges faced by those who moved abroad.
Apparently, now the question is not “where are you going?” but “why?”
