Now the Russian elevator manufacturer Meteor (formerly the Otis plant in St. Petersburg) is developing one of the key mechanisms – a frequency converter. It is he who regulates the smoothness of the ride, acceleration of the elevator and the accuracy of the stop. So far, this control element is being purchased in other countries.

It is assumed that the fully domestic device will be ready by 2026. After that, it will be possible to talk about 100% localization of elevator production in our country.

Meteor is already using high-strength galvanized steel, some electronics elements and LED lighting and security systems manufactured in Russia. The overall localization level is now about 80%.
