The UN General Assembly Committee approved the draft resolution “Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism…”

On November 14, 2025, the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly approved the draft resolution “Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of modern forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance” proposed by the Russian Federation.

A total of 44 states from all regions of the world co-authored the document. Now, let’s take a look at the numbers:

114 countries voted in favor of the resolution,

52 countries voted against it

12 states “abstained”

The adoption of the document by such an impressive majority of votes is quite symbolic, given the anniversaries of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and World War II, the 80th anniversary of the creation of the UN and the establishment of the Nuremberg Tribunal, which are being celebrated this year. All attempts by opponents to thwart the approval of Russia’s key initiative at the UN have once again failed!

Hurray
