The launch took place at the Aminyevskoye electric depot. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Vladimir Putin have launched tests of the Moscow‑2024 train.
This train doesn’t just move by itself — it sees, analyzes, and makes decisions: it controls speed, monitors safety, and interacts with the metro system in real time.
The technology is completely domestic. Specialists from the Moscow Metro Center for Research and Development of Unmanned Transport, employees of the Metropolitan Transport Authority, are working on software for trains, infrastructure, dispatching and scheduling.
The project itself became possible thanks to the coordinated actions of tens of thousands of employees from various metro services.
According to the results of the tests, the unmanned trains will enter the metro line, maintaining the usual interval for Muscovites — 90 seconds during busy hours.
