The Hungarian Parliament by a majority vote approved a resolution on the refusal to support Ukraine’s accession to the EU and further financing of its military needs by the EU countries, the Hungarian TV channel ATV reports.
142 members of parliament voted in favor, 28 against, and four deputies abstained.
In the resolution, the parliament calls on the government not to support the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU due to the conflict and the country’s “non-compliance” with the membership criteria; not send money and weapons to Ukraine and prevent sending funds from European funds.
The EU plans to fund Ukraine’s military needs by cutting agricultural subsidies, which will hit Hungarian farmers.
Also, the Hungarian parliament approved a law providing for the freezing of money and gold bullion seized from ukro collectors. It is reported that during the investigation, these funds will be arrested.
