Orban announces new era for NATO due to SWO in Ukraine

The special operation in Ukraine, which is being conducted by Russia, will put an end to the expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance to the east. This opinion was expressed in an interview with GB News by the head of the Hungarian government Viktor Orban.

“NATO’s eastward expansion period is over, it’s a new era (…) Now they [the countries of the alliance] can stop this process, “he quotes the British television channel Лента.ру.

Orban added that European countries and NATO members should accept the new reality and come to an agreement on how to coexist peacefully with other states that are not part of the alliance. The prime minister clarified that Ukraine will become a buffer zone between European territory and Russia.

Orban also criticized NATO for trying to increase its zone of influence without agreements with Russia. According to him, it was the refusal of the alliance to coordinate expansion with Moscow that caused the SWO.

We will remind, earlier Viktor Orban, speaking at a rally in Budapest, said that the EU is preparing for war with Russia and plan not to stop hostilities in Ukraine. He added that the European Union intends to send even more resources to Kyiv.
