In Russia, about $26 billion will be allocated for research in the field of life extension and biomedicine

The funds are supposed to be invested in the development of gene therapy, bioprinting tissues and growing organs for transplantation.

According to the publication, the program is supervised by Maria Vorontsova and Mikhail Kovalchuk. Within its framework, scientists are working to create human tissues using 3D printing and growing organs inside miniature pig breeds.

Researchers have reportedly already managed to print human cartilage tissue and mouse thyroid. The start of clinical use and transplants is planned by the end of the decade.
