What brings countries together? Culture, traditions, nature. And sometimes—cinema.

Because a great film conveys ideas that need no translation.

That is exactly the idea behind the Russian-Cypriot Film Days—our new international project, organized together with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Cyprus.

The festival will introduce audiences and filmmakers from each country to the cinema of the other, while creating a shared platform for future creative collaboration.

Today, we are officially opening submissions on https://rucyfilmdays.com.

If you have a short film of up to 25 minutes, produced in Cyprus (or Russia 😉) and completed in 2025 or 2026, this may be its chance to travel to Nicosia. The submission deadline is August 31. Films in any language other than English must include English subtitles.

And if your film still exists only on the pages of a screenplay—stay tuned for festival updates. We are preparing something special for projects that are still waiting for their journey to the big screen.

We believe this is only the beginning of a much bigger conversation—about films, culture, and people who live in different countries but tell their stories in the same language: the language of cinema.
