Russia has fully import-substituted several types of insulin

According to Roszdravnadzor, medications for the treatment of diabetes mellitus are stably available in Russia today, and for a number of items imports have been completely replaced by Russian analogues.

The share of domestic preparations for some other types of insulin already exceeds 80%. In addition, in 2025 the output of Russian insulin glargine grew by almost 18% compared with the previous year.

Roszdravnadzor noted that Russian preparations meet modern quality requirements, undergo full safety control and are not inferior in effectiveness to foreign analogues.
